Probably no one goes to the wedding shower for the food. We’re not quite sure why. One too many dainty cups of sherbert punch, perhaps? Is it because no number of Monte Cristo sandwiches, no matter how mini they might be, are good for you at 3:00pm in real life? Either way, we think it’s a shame. Today, we share a few of our favorite ways to procrastinate cooking blogs, and the recipes we think would be just perfect for your next hosting gig.
First, leave that sherbert in your grocer’s freezer aisle and take your rightful place as the hostess-with-the-mostest when you put one of these Raspberry Herb Cocktails in your guests’ hands:
For noshing… these look scrumptious. Sure, “Spring Pea Toasts” sound a little frou-frou. But if you’re in the south, we bet some of you are starting to see fresh veggies popping up around town. These would be perfect, easy, healthy finger foods, and we imagine you’d feel a little better eating these than downing those Costco Monte Cristos.
Pea shoots not sounding like a party? What about Joy the Baker’s mini-pretzel dogs?
And last but completely not least, is there anything Deb at Smitten Kitchen makes that isn’t amazing? We don’t think so. We make these tomatoes, this pineapple upside down cake, and these boozy cupcakes on a regular basis. For a bridal shower, what about these raspberry coconut macaroons?
