Wedding mixtapes

Bring back a taste of the 80s and more specifically the 90s with a wedding mixtape… or better yet the mix CD!  Create playlists of you and your spouse’s favorite songs or ones that hold the most meaning in your relationship; the songs can convey your story often better than words can.  This favor will undoubtedly get used often in the future and is a great way for your guests to remember fondly how amazing both you and your celebration are.

Many stores like Walgreens and Best Buy sell large packs of blank audio CDs and packs of CD pre-cut CD labels for low cost, and chances are you may have even better luck buying online from a vendor such as Amazon.com.

Depending on the size of your guest list, you may be viewing this thinking: what a long, tedious, and seemingly never-ending task!  However, if you get your lovely bridesmaids together for a hangout night, you can get some serious work done!  Have the ladies bring their laptops, split up the list, put in a movie, grab the popcorn and you are all set for a girls’ night.

The CD case could be a ribbon-wrapped tin or feature a photo of the couple or a paper sleeve that reflects the overall theme of the wedding.  The way you decorate it simply shows more of your personality, and the songs chosen help you to tell the story of your relationship with each other and also your journey through life with various friends and family. Try the fun tradition of a mix CD and enjoy the fond memories it brings back for you!

  1. I like the idea of the Mix Tapes, we custom make songs or albums depending on what the bride and groom like. Since we have all the equipment it takes, speakers, turntables and lighting. It seems to make each event more customized to the brides needs.

Love that with the right equipment you could customize songs, too – good insight!
