The kind of stationary you use really sets the tone for your wedding. You want your save -the-date cards and invitations to create an idea of what guests can expect on your big day, while representing you as a couple. Make them stand out with these unique and out-of-the-box ideas!

We saw these DIY modern matchbook save the date cards on The Knotty Bride a while ago, and fell in love. So cute!

This invitation turns into an actual record player when folded the right way! Perfect for music lovers, these invitiations are sure to amaze and entertain your guests.

Help save the environment with these unique plantable invites! You can actually plant this seed paper invitation from Botanical Paper Works in it’s entirety once you’re done reading it. This invitation plants a birch tree, just like the image on the invitation.

E-vites are another unique option, although they are not for everybody. They are definitely quick, cheap (often free!) and because it’s paperless- they are 100% eco-friendly. Some feature an animated envelope that opens and reveals a personalized wedding invitation, making it a bit classier. Another bonus is that e-vites are interactive, the guest can RSVP right on the website and you can track which guests have received and opened them.

Just don’t go too far- this couple actually sent out Facebook event invitations for their wedding, not as a supplementary invite, or a reminder, but the actual invite. This is a big don’t!

No matter how you inform guests of your wedding day, a little creativity can never hurt!
