As we mentioned last week, Hollywood starlet Reese Witherspoon got married in a elegant but rustic country-style wedding at her California estate (for more on how you too can have a rustic backyard wedding like Reese, click here!). Now that pictures have surfaced, everyone is of course talking about her dress. Reese wore a a custom-designed Monique Lhuillier blush-hued gown with a Chantilly lace corset bodice and full tulle A-line skirt, which wowed the guests.

Reese opted out of the traditional white wedding gown for a light pink hue. Another star who chose the non-traditional route was Valerie Bertinelli, with her much-talked about blue wedding dress from earlier this year.

What about this Zinnia gown from BHLDN in ivory with wispy coral and smokey petal print?

Or you can really abandon tradition with this fire-engine gown.

Since weddings are often associated with the color white,  it can be daring to stray from convention. For many second time around brides who want to avoid the supposed connotation of wearing white at the wedding, this is a great idea. Colorful wedding dresses are becoming more and more popular, and are perfect for brides who want to make a bold statement, or even just a subtle one like Reese.

What do you think? Are colorful wedding dresses funky and fresh or do they stray too far from tradition?
