There’s something subtle yet fabulous about incorporating organic elements like fruit into wedding decor, which we saw yesterday with the strawberry bouquets. As summer gets closer, citrusy flavors and accents are definitely in, especially lemons and limes. We love the ideas of incorporating these bright, colorful fruits into everything from the centerpieces to the cake.

Decorating with lemons and limes is SO easy.  Stick them in a clear vase with some flowers, sliced or whole, and you’ve got a beautiful centerpiece in an instant!

Or use them in place of petals to section off your wedding aisle, which are just perfect for outdoor weddings like this one!

Why not outfit your bridal party in any of these bright, vibrant colors? This lemon Alfred Sung dress, now available at Bridesmaid Trade in size 4!

Or this gorgeous green empire waist dress with yellow rope detailing, also available at Bridesmaid Trade, available in size 8!

The best part of lemon-lime decorations?  Using them when you’re finished!  Use the leftovers to make delicious raspberry limeade slushies! Here’s the recipe from smittenkitchen.com!

Raspberry Limeade Slushies

Serves 4, generously

1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice

1 cup raspberries
1 cup water

4 cups ice

2/3 cup sugar

1 cup soda water

Lime wedges, for serving

4 chilled glasses, if you’re feeling fancy

In a blender, blend the lime juice, raspberries, water, ice and sugar until slushy. Pour into glasses. Top off with about 1/4 cup soda water and garnish with a lime wedge!

If the big event hands you lemons (or limes), make something delicious!
